By submitting a membership form and paying annual dues, each member understands and agrees to the following terms.
HKRA membership is annual and applies only to the membership year for which dues have been paid.
Members agree to follow all HKRA rules, posted policies, property-use guidelines, and reasonable directions from HKRA officers or trustees.
HKRA may update its rules or procedures from time to time to protect the property, members, guests, and neighborhood.
HKRA is a private lakefront recreational property. Use of the property involves risks, including but not limited to:
swimming and lake-related risks;
dock, shoreline, and boating risks;
weather, wind, storms, and changing lake conditions;
slips, trips, falls, uneven ground, rocks, roots, and natural hazards;
use of grills, picnic areas, equipment, racks, and common areas;
injury caused by a member’s own actions, guests, other members, or natural conditions.
HKRA does not provide lifeguards, security, supervision, medical assistance, or guaranteed monitoring of the property.
Members, household members, and guests use HKRA property entirely at their own risk.
Children and minors must be supervised in accordance with HKRA rules.
Members are responsible for the conduct, safety, and supervision of any children or minors in their household or brought by them as guests.
HKRA does not supervise children and does not assume responsibility for children using the property.
Members are responsible for their guests at all times.
Members must make sure their guests understand and follow HKRA rules, including rules regarding swimming, parking, boats, trash, grills, behavior, private events, and use of common areas.
Guest privileges may be limited, suspended, or revoked if a member or the member’s guests do not follow HKRA rules.
Any boat, kayak, paddleboard, oar, equipment, or personal property stored or left at HKRA is stored entirely at the owner’s risk.
HKRA is not responsible for theft, loss, vandalism, weather damage, water damage, animal damage, misuse, removal, or any other damage to personal property.
Any vessel or equipment stored at HKRA must comply with HKRA’s current storage rules, including registration, labeling, rack placement, dues/payment status, and any required form or approval.
Noncompliant, abandoned, unlabeled, unpaid, unsafe, or improperly stored property may be moved, removed, or disposed of by HKRA after reasonable notice, unless immediate action is needed for safety or property maintenance.
Members agree to follow HKRA parking rules and understand that parking may be limited.
Members must remove their own trash and leave the property clean.
Members must use grills, picnic areas, and common areas responsibly and safely.
Members may not damage HKRA property, trees, equipment, signs, docks, racks, tables, fencing, or facilities.
HKRA may allow private parties or member events under HKRA rules.
A private party reservation does not necessarily close the property to other members unless HKRA specifically says otherwise.
Any member who hosts or sponsors a party is responsible for guests, setup, cleanup, trash removal, conduct, and compliance with HKRA rules.
Members agree to use HKRA property respectfully and safely.
Failure to follow HKRA rules may result in one or more of the following:
warning;
loss of guest privileges;
loss of boat, kayak, or paddleboard storage privileges;
removal of stored property;
suspension of property-use privileges;
denial of future membership;
other action reasonably necessary to protect HKRA, its members, or the property.
HKRA may contact members using the email address, phone number, mailing address, or other contact information provided for membership notices, dues, rules, events, property updates, safety notices, and other HKRA-related communications.
Members certify that the information provided on the membership form is accurate and complete.
Members agree to notify HKRA if contact information, household information, boat/kayak/paddleboard information, or other relevant membership information changes.
By submitting the membership form, each member confirms that they have read and agree to this HKRA Membership, Rules, Risk, Guest, and Property Use Agreement.
Payment of dues and submission of a membership form do not create any ownership interest in HKRA property and do not give any member rights beyond those allowed by HKRA membership rules.
